Growing up in a male dominant Chinese traditional family, Gina was told that woman do not need to have higher education as eventually woman will get married and become housewife. She remembered that her grandfather even slap her on the face because she was too active in extra school curriculum activity. But this did not stop Gina from having her own dream to pursue what she want to be in life.
Despite all the disagreement from the family, Gina’s wise mother had sent me to Kuala Lumpur to pursue her tertiary education. From that moment onwards, she knew that she had to face this world on her own, this has make her more independent and strong. Gina has worked her way up from a small town girl to and eventually rose up the ranks and became a manager. Thereafter, she got posted to Japan for a Regional Role and now a Global Role.
When we ask her, what keeps her motivated, she shared, ‘There is no limit in this journey of life, everything happened in this journey is a valuable lesson, we growth and learn from it. So live this life, make the best out of it and fulfil what our creator want us to do in this world. I also believed that every one of us are created for a good reason, and have a purpose in our life. Never mind what other people think or frame us in circular vision. Do what you desire and achieve the goal.’
