We all want the ideal body, but how many of us are willing to work for it? To some people, working out just doesn't seem to be that interesting and dragging yourself to exercise is just one of the most dreadful moment.
Although we don't have a genie that grants wishes, we do have some tips and tricks that will give you a whole different perception on working out. Want to make a change on that? Try these few simple tips that will give you extra motivation to keep your heart pumping.
1. Plan your day ahead
A well planned schedule is what you’ll need. When you make time for it, you have no excuses in dodging it. Instead of saying ‘I don't have time’, try making a few simple changes like waking up earlier for a morning workout before school/work. Not a morning person? Do it in the evening after your work/school to help you unwind. When everything is mapped out nicely, you’ll less likely skip your exercise.
2. Find the right gym
Well, all gymnasiums are almost the same right? What we’re trying to say is to get one that you’re most comfortable in. Factors like location and price are also important as they may affect you. Our advice is to try to find one that is near your workplace or house. In this way, you won’t have to travel that extra mile which may later be an excuse and burden for you.
3. Work out the right way
If there are zero or slow results, you’ll start to feel unmotivated. Observe your needs. Do you want to lose body fat? Try cardio like HIIT. Do you want to train on your strength endurance? Pilates might be your best bet. When you get the hang of it, you’ll start to love it and look forward to your next training session.
4. Find a gym buddy
Some people might find it boring when going to the gym alone. Just the idea of working out among strangers can feel so intimidating to some. By having a workout buddy, you’ll have someone to look out to and may even exchange tips and advice on exercising. Definitely a plus point!
5. Wear your favourite sports gear
Feeling a little hesitant to work out? Throw on your favourite sports attire and go. When you look good, everything just seems to be better! 6. Be flexible
Working out is much different than going to work or school. You don’t always have to do it at the same place and time. When you don’t make changes accordingly, you may be putting a lot of stress on your daily schedule. Try to do it at different timings and places instead.
For instance, a morning run outside with fresh air might be a better idea than the treadmill at gym. Do what you feel like and you’ll see exercising as a more fun thing to do.
7. Get a personal trainer
Besides guiding you during your session, a personal trainer motivates you like no other. They start by observing your concerns and needs, then have a program tailor made for you. When the training starts, they push you to your limits, letting you work the best out of yourself. Sounds intense? Yes, but that’s the kind of motivation we all need once in awhile!
